From June 28 – 30, 2012, the Ateneo de Manila University will host a promotional seminar on European Higher Education in the field of climate change. The seminar entitled “Linking European and Asian Academic Networks: Experiences in Climate Change and Disaster Research and Education,” will be organized within the framework of the Erasmus Mundus program, “Linking European, African, Asian Academic Networks on Climate Change” (LEAN-CC), a project co-funded by the European Commission.

The project aims at improving awareness on climate change in selected regions and reducing the barriers to study in European Higher Education Institutions. Moreover, it hopes to provide prospective non-EU students with greater incentive to participate in EU educational programs in the field of climate change.

The Consortium members share expertise in climate change adaptation and mitigation in urban areas, natural resource management, water management, urban ecology, governance and urban planning.

Faculty members, researchers, administrators, students, government representatives involved with higher education or climate change training (local and national) and relevant private sector representatives are invited to join the seminar which will be held at Escaler Hall, Science Education Complex.
